Job Title: High School Boys and Girls Assistant Track Coach

 

Reports To: Athletic Director

Position Type: Seasonal / Part-Time

 

Position Summary:

North Park School District is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in developing student-athletes’ skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Assistant Coach helps with practices, meet preparation, and supervision of athletes while promoting a positive and safe team environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices.

• Help teach sport-specific skills, techniques, and strategies.

• Supervise student-athletes during practices, meets, and team activities.

• Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development.

• Assist with equipment management, meet preparation, and team logistics.

• Help ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes.

• Communicate effectively with the Head Coach, athletes, and school staff.

• Follow North Park, Western-Slope League, and Colorado athletic policies and guidelines

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• Pass a CBI and FBI background check

• Ability to complete the CHSAA 1st Year Coaches Test, Concussion Training, Mandatory Reporter Training, and First Aid/CPR certification

• Previous playing or coaching experience in track preferred.

• Ability to work with student-athletes in a positive and constructive way.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Compensation:
Stipend based on district salary schedule.

Working Conditions: The majority of the coaching job will take place outside or in a gym. The assistant coach is expected to attend all practices and meets. Travel is required.
